The Brief

2023 marked 150 years of celebrating the biggest race day on the calendar in the Riverina, the Wagga Gold Cup. Branding was required to commemorate this event at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. Gold obviously being the key colour story, blue was also asked for to represent the MTC. The day is an event of elegance which is what the clients wanted reflected within the branding.

Design Outcomes

Using a modern typeface paired with an older classic recognised the history of the event but also staying relevant and modern, inline with today. The graphic intertwined with the text created more of an interesting logo and sense of unity. The continuous lines of the graphic depicts a sense of elegance which is also apparent with the use of gold foil on products.
